ABOUT THE BRAND+
A native of Oahu, Kapua Browning founded Honua Hawaiian Skincare in 2015. Studying traditional Hawaiian healing practices and modern technology, she set out creating her line by placing the highest value on the traditional ideologies of her ancestors and Hawaiian botanicals. The name Honua means Earth or Land and Mother Earth is at the heart of the company. The ancient Hawaiians believed it was their duty to care for the land which provides for them. This value of ALOHA (spirit) holds enormous importance.
The skincare production supports farmers who are cultivating and perpetuating native Hawaiian plants for future generations, and a percentage of the proceeds are dedicated to replenishing native plants, supporting the education of Hawaiian culture and promoting self-sustainability.
